AEA membership offers a range of benefits, both direct and indirect, to AEA Individual Members and Alliance Member Bodies. Some of these benefits are available now – others are expected to become available over time as the AEA becomes progressively more established.

Direct Benefits

  1. Public liability ($10,000,000 limit) and personal accident ($50,000 limit) insurance whilst riding or handling a horse*.
  2. Single insurance policy and cover that travels with the individual – no need to pay for multiple cover for the various horse sport activities that the different Alliance Member Bodies currently require.
  3. Monthly legal updates to help you stay informed about legal developments in the equine industry.
  4. Periodic newsletter with information on what is happening within the equine industry.
  5. Merchant discounts via the AEA membership card.
  6. Direct electronic access to a national and international network to buy and sell horses, tack, and any associated items etc.

Indirect Benefits

  1. National voice for lobbying industry and governments for the benefit of the equine industry, Alliance Member Bodies and AEA Individual Members.
  2. Sponsorship program for Alliance Member Bodies that will directly benefit AEA Individual Members by assisting their own club or association.
  3. Potential for increased membership of Alliance Member Bodies with a consequent increase in available funds to provided services to their members.
  4. Potential for reduced individual membership fees to their own association or club through reduced insurance costs for Alliance Member Bodies.
  5. Bi-annual conference as a forum for all Alliance Member Bodies, with the equine industry and government, to debate issues affecting them and generally as a platform for all within the equine industry to have a "fair say".
  6. Grants application facility for Alliance Member Bodies to apply for grant funding available from various not–for–profit organisations and government departments at all levels.
